Type and purpose of processing:

When you access our website, i.e. when you do not register or provide us with information in some other way, information of a general nature is collected automatically. This information (server log files) contains e.g. the visitor’s choice of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your ISP, your IP address and similar data.

The information is processed for the following purposes in particular:

  • Ensuring problem-free connection to the website,

  • other administrative purposes.

We do not use your data to conclude information about your identity. We may evaluate information of this nature statistically to optimise our web presence and the technology behind it.

The processing is carried out in accordance with art. 6 para. 1 (f) of the GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the stability and functionality of our website.

Recipients:

The recipients of the data may be technical service providers who work as contracted processors to keep our website operational and maintained.

Duration of storage:

The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected. This is generally the case for data used to provide the website once the session in question has ended.

Provision prescribed or necessary:

Provision of the aforementioned personal data is neither legally nor contractually prescribed. Without the IP address, however, the services and functionality of our website cannot be guaranteed. Furthermore, individual services may be unavailable or restricted. Objection is thus precluded in this case.

Cookies

Type and purpose of processing:

Like many other websites, we use what are known as cookies. Cookies are small text files that are saved to your end device (laptop, tablet, smartphone etc.) when you visit our website.

This gives us certain data such as your IP address, the browser you are using and your operating system.

Cookies cannot be used to start programs or to infect a computer with a virus. We can use the information contained in the cookies to make navigation easier for you and to ensure that our websites are displayed correctly.

Under no circumstances do we make the data we collect available to third parties or establish a link with personal data without your permission.

You can, of course, view our website without cookies. Web browsers are often set to accept cookies by default. In general, you can deactivate the use of cookies at any time via your browser settings. Please use the help function in your web browser to find out how to change these settings. Please note that individual functions of our website may not work if you have deactivated the use of cookies.

Depending on your browser provider, the necessary information may be found in the following links:

Use of Google Analytics

Type and purpose of processing:

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA (hereinafter referred to as “Google”). Google Analytics uses what are known as cookies. These are text files saved on your computer that allow your use of the website to be analysed. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the U.S. and stored there. However, as IP anonymisation has been activated on these web pages, your IP address will be truncated beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the complete IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the U.S. and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating how you use the website, compiling reports on website activity, and providing the website operator with other services relating to website activity and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics’ operations will not be merged with other Google data.

The purposes of data processing are to evaluate website use and to compile reports about activity on the website. Based on the use of the website and the internet in general, other related services shall then be provided.

Legal basis:

The data is processed based on the user’s permission (art. 6, para. 1 (a) of the GDPR).

Recipients:

The recipient of the data is Google, the contracted processor. We have concluded an appropriate order processing agreement with Google for this purpose.

Duration of storage:

The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purposes for which it was recorded.

Transfer to a third country:

Google processes your data in the U.S. and has agreed to be bound by the EU-US Privacy Shield https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework.

Provision prescribed or necessary:

Your personal data is provided voluntarily, solely on the basis of your consent. If you prevent access to this data, this may result in restrictions to the functionality of the website.

Revocation of consent:

You can prevent cookies being saved by making a setting to this effect in your browser software. We must inform you, however, that if you do so, you may not be able to use all website functions in full. You can also prevent the collection and processing by Google of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available under the following link: Browser add-on to deactivate Google Analytics.

In addition to, or as an alternative to the browser add-on, you can prevent Google Analytics from tracking you on our pages by clicking this link. This will install an opt-out cookie on your device. This prevents Google Analytics from collecting data for this website and in this browser as long as the cookie remains installed in your browser.

Profiling:

The tracking tool Google Analytics can be used to evaluate users’ behaviour on the website and to analyse their interests. We create a pseudonymous user profile for this purpose.

Use of script libraries (Google Web Fonts)

Type and purpose of processing:

In order to display our content correctly and in a graphically appealing manner across all browsers, we use Google Web Fonts from Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; hereinafter referred to as "Google") to display fonts on this website.

You can find library operator Google’s privacy guidelines here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

Legal basis:

The legal basis for including Google Web Fonts and the associated data transfer to Google is your consent (art. 6, para. 1 (a) of the GDPR).

Recipients:

Calling script libraries or font libraries automatically triggers a connection to the library operator. It is theoretically possible that the operator may collect Google data in this case, although it is currently unclear if this is the case and for what purposes it may happen.

Duration of storage:

We do not collect any personal data through our use of Google Web Fonts.

Provision prescribed or necessary:

Provision of personal data is neither legally nor contractually prescribed. However, without this data, the contents of standard fonts cannot be displayed correctly.

Revocation of consent:

The programming language JavaScript is often used to display content. You can therefore object to data processing by deactivating the execution of JavaScript in your browser or by installing a JavaScript blocker. Please note that doing so may result in restrictions to the functionality of the website.

Embedded YouTube videos

Type and purpose of processing:

We embed YouTube videos on some of our web pages. The operator of the plug-ins required is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA (hereinafter referred to as “YouTube”). If you visit a page containing the YouTube plug-in, a connection is established to YouTube’s servers. YouTube is then informed of which pages you are visiting. If you are logged in to your YouTube account at the time, YouTube can attribute your surfing behaviour to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand.

When a YouTube video is started, the provider uses cookies to collect information about the user’s behaviour.

You can find further information on the purpose and scope of data collection and processing by YouTube in the provider’s data privacy policy, where you will also find further information on your rights in this regard and changes you can make to your settings to protect your privacy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). The legal basis for including YouTube and the associated data transfer to Google is your consent (art. 6, para. 1, lit. a of the GDPR).

Recipients:

Calling up YouTube automatically triggers a connection to Google.

Duration of storage and revocation of consent:

If you have deactivated the saving of cookies for the Google Ad program, no such cookies will be saved when watching YouTube videos either. YouTube does, however, store non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you would like to prevent this, you must block the saving of cookies in your browser.

You will find more information on YouTube’s data protection practices in the provider’s privacy policy at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/
